By viewing each client as a unique individual, with one’s own history and culture, one’s own upbringing and influences, one’s own value system and desires, one’s own experiences and responses to traumas, and one’s own unique nervous system functioning, Kara strives to understand and support each client to reach the goals they choose to work towards.
Whether someone shows up with anxiety, depression, complex trauma, relationship issues or low self-esteem, Kara will take an integrative approach to help you work through the blocks holding you back.
Kara is licensed mental health counselor in both Maryland and Florida (LCPC and LMHC respectively) and works with modern therapy modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Therapy and Mindfulness based systems.
She is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, a Clinical Āyurvedic Specialist and an experienced yoga teacher and practitioner of Jyotish (Vedic Astrology). Being able to combine her mental health education and therapy skills with yoga, ayurveda, and astrology gives her a unique set of skills to help you work through the issues challenging you and support you in living a life of peace, happiness and harmony.
